Este artigo tem por objetivo verificar como o interesse coletivo e o uso da tecnologia impactam nos objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável. Trata-se de estudo com abordagem quantitativa, conclusiva, descritiva, com dados coletados via survey com 87 munícipes de Florianópolis e análise por meio de estatística descritiva e técnica de modelagem de equação estrutural. Observamos que foi possível estatisticamente validar as hipóteses traçadas no estudo, na qual tanto os interesses coletivos quanto as tecnologias impactam positivamente nos objetivos de desenvolvimento sustentável. A principal contribuição deste artigo foi verificar na prática que ações de interesse coletivo e a eficiência provocada pela utilização da tecnologia em prol das smart cities aceleram a promoção da sustentabilidade.
