FATORES DETERMINANTES PARA O DESEMPENHO ACADÊMICO: UMA PESQUISA COM ESTUDANTES DE CIÊNCIAS CONTÁBEIS

O objetivo deste estudo é identificar os fatores que determinam o desempenho dos acadêmicos do curso de Ciências Contábeis da UNICENTRO, em Prudentópolis e Irati. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como descritiva e quantitativa. Os procedimentos adotados foram de natureza bibliográfica e de levantamento. Foi utilizado como instrumento de pesquisa um questionário adaptado dos estudos de Lay (1986), Sobral (2003) e Vicente, Miranda e Freitas (2014), por meio do qual se buscou capturar as variáveis: i) nível de procrastinação; ii) nível de motivação (intrínseco, extrínseco e desmotivação); e iii) local escolhido pelos estudantes para assistir à aula na sala. Foram aplicados 154 questionários aos estudantes de Ciências Contábeis nos municípios de Prudentópolis e Irati, obtendo-se 122 questionários válidos. Os principais resultados indicam que o nível de procrastinação influencia negativamente o desempenho, enquanto, a motivação intrínseca tende a se relacionar positivamente com tal variável. Outro achado interessante refere-se à influência do gênero no desempenho, uma vez que, conforme indicam os resultados, o gênero feminino apresenta desempenho significativamente superior.
