Fatores que influenciam a divulgação de informações por segmentos operacionais no Brasil: análise englobando os cinco primeiros anos de aplicação do CPC 22

Abstract

Este estudo objetiva identificar fatores que influenciam os níveis de divulgação de informações por segmentos operacionais no Brasil. A pesquisa desenvolve-se a partir da análise das demonstrações contábeis das empresas brasileiras, tendo como referência os requisitos constantes no Pronunciamento CPC 22. Na sequência, é utilizado o modelo estatístico de regressão linear múltipla para análise dos dados. Aborda-se a divulgação referente aos anos de 2010 a 2014, sendo que 2010 foi o primeiro ano de obrigatoriedade desse tipo de divulgação no Brasil. O estudo engloba 231 empresas distribuídas entre 20 setores econômicos. São testadas hipóteses referentes a oito características identificadas como potenciais fatores que influenciariam os diferentes níveis de divulgação. Observou-se que para as características “rentabilidade”, “concentração do setor”, “lucro ou prejuízo” e “ano de divulgação” não foram obtidos resultados estatisticamente significativos, o que indica que esses fatores não influenciam tal divulgação. Já para as outras quatro características investigadas, os resultados confirmaram as hipóteses testadas. Assim, as evidências da pesquisa revelam que as características “tamanho”, “endividamento”, “governança corporativa” e “auditoria” são fatores que influenciam a divulgação de informações sobre segmentos operacionais no Brasil.
