A elasticidade-preço de demanda no segmento supermercadista de varejo: um estudo de caso com abordagem empírica

O objetivo da pesquisa é identificar a sensibilidade dos consumidores às alterações nos níveis de preços de produtos supermercadistas, da Loja “Sdo”, do município de Guarapuava, no Paraná. A pesquisa fundamenta-se na Teoria Geral da Demanda e na Teoria do Comportamento do Consumidor, onde o mesmo possui renda fixa e várias opções de escolha, sendo o preço uma variável contínua que possui relação inversa com a quantidade demandada. O método de investigação adotado é o estudo de caso, com amostras de preços e de quantidades dos produtos da loja “Sdo” em conjunto com as técnicas de inferência estatística, através do uso do modelo de regressão linear simples e de elasticidade no ponto médio. Os resultados indicam que os produtos óleo, leite em pó, água sanitária, detergente em pó, lasanha, hambúrguer, requeijão e garrafa térmica apresentaram elasticidade maior que um (em módulo), sendo produtos com demanda sensível em relação ao preço. Conclui-se que, dentre os produtos investigados, os consumidores são mais sensíveis às alterações de preço do hambúrguer e do requeijão.
