Cooperative Network Between Researchers: a Study on Executive Secretariat Courses of the South Region in Brazil

In scientific fields, a partnership for the development of research is a common practice. The collaborative work among researchers enables the sharing of a variety of information resources, technology, experiences and ideas. The collaborative studies also reduce the distances for the entry in the spheres of national and international publication. In this context, this paper aims at verifying the existence of networks of researchers and universities from the Executive Secretariat courses of the South region in Brazil. To this end, an individual research was conducted on the curriculum of the researchers from the twenty universities investigated. As main results the importance that networks assume for the strengthening of research in different areas was identified, since the most productive researchers were also the most collaborative. Furthermore, it is important to point out that among the few groups of Secretariat researchers, the strong ties are highlighted, which needs to be rethought, paying attention to the importance that the weak ties assume into the cooperation networks.
