Inventário do carbono orgânico em um plantio de Pinus taeda aos 5 anos de idade no Rio Grande do Sul

O presente trabalho estimou carbono orgˆanico da biomassa, solo e da serapilheirade um povoamento de Pinus taeda com 5 anos de idade, localizado no munic´ıpio de Cambar´a
do Sul - RS. O carbono orgˆanico no solo, at´e 100 cm de profundidade, foi estimado em
227,8 Mg ha−1 , sendo que a camada de 0-40 cm corresponde a 65% deste total. Quanto a
serapilheira sobre o solo, esta foi estimada em 17,4 Mg ha−1 com um total de 7,7 Mg ha−1
de carbono orgˆanico. A biomassa seca dos componentes ac´ıculas, galhos, casca, madeira e
raiz foi de 6,9; 5,2; 2,7; 18,4 e 8,3 Mg ha−1 , respectivamente. J´a o carbono acumulado
nestes componentes foi de 3,3; 2,4; 1,1; 8,4 e 3,6 Mg ha−1, respectivamente. A madeira
representou 44% do total da biomassa, e as ra´ızes representaram 19% do montante total de
carbono, fixado pela biomassa do povoamento.
