Abstract

One of the difficulties in the studies of the processes that occurin the soil porosity space, as the retention and water movement, is the definition of water content  accurately variation. The experiment was developed in Guarapuava-PR to evaluate the use of soil fractal dimension to establish methodology for the determination of soil water content for irrigation management.  It was verified that  the  soil fractal dimension obtained through the Spadotto equation and structured soil sample makes possible obtaining soil water content determination.  The proposed methodology, starting from the results of this work,  can be considered a field tool for irrigation management.
